WHO AM I?
My name is Christine Horn and I am a Visionary Success Coach. I help women over 30 starting over who are unhappy, burned out, overwhelmed, dissatisfied and wondering “How did my life end up here?” or “Who am I now?” When they work with me, they rediscover themselves, reignite their passions and get their smile back. I help them evaluate their priorities, be more productive and figure out what’s most important to them in the next chapter of their lives.
In addition to being a coach, I’m also an award-winning Actress of stage and screen, a Singer/Songwriter and Producer. I’ve had the honor of performing at The White House for President George W. Bush, and with the Broadway, Las Vegas and National Touring companies of Disney’s “The Lion King.” I’ve starred in feature films and TV shows alongside some of Hollywood’s biggest stars (Adam Sandler, Drew Barrymore, Richard Roundtree, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Columbus Short & Billy Dee Williams just to name a few.) I am newly married and my husband Garland and I and I live in Atlanta, Georgia with our pet turtle, “Superstar.” I am truly blessed to do what I love every-single-day.
Don’t be fooled though. My journey has been far from easy and I am by no means perfect.
I’VE BEEN WHERE YOU ARE
People just meeting me for the first time assume I have it all together. I often say to myself, “GOD, if they only knew what I’ve been through.”
Being in the entertainment industry is not for the faint of heart. You wake up every day wondering if today is the day you will get your big break. For years I worked 2-3 jobs to pay bills and to fund my dreams. I’ve never been that actor who was too proud to work a ‘regular’ job in between gigs. I’ve been a janitor, server, receptionist, retail associate, personal assistant, administrative assistant, manager and more! I did what I had to do to survive, but I was miserable.
The stock market crash of 2008 did not help either. I lost the majority of my savings along with two homes due to bad investments and poor decisions. My health was suffering due to my bad eating habits and I was adding extra stress to my life by trying to keep up with Hollywood’s standards of beauty. I was getting sick all the time, my mother was in and out of the hospital in Atlanta due to her Lupus flares and I was lonely & broke as hell living in a duplex I shared with a roommate all the way in Los Angeles. “How is this ‘living the dream’?” I wondered. Then I realized this wasn’t a dream. It was a nightmare and something had to change.
THE TURNING POINT
In December 2010 a light went off. I can remember it like it was yesterday. After being sick back-to-back for months on end, feeling depressed and frustrated with my career and finances, I decided that I had enough and was ready for a change. I finally admitted to myself that I was in pain. I began to search for peace. I knew that the first thing that I needed to address was my health, because I knew if that wasn’t in order, I would have no life to live anyway. I had a sneaking suspicion that my diet was the cause of my recurring illness. One Friday night I binge watched vegan documentaries until I cried myself to sleep and by Saturday morning I decided to follow a plant-based diet.
The transformation I felt was instant. I lost weight immediately and my thoughts became clearer. I stopped getting sick and I was able to look at my circumstances with a brand new set of eyes and an open heart.
My passion for my new found health led me into me to the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where I became a certified Holistic Health Counselor, creating “Wings to Weeds,” a popular YouTube vegan cooking show, and creating an educational show for kids called “Veggie Headz.” It was clear that I found another calling.
WHEN MY LIFE TRULY CHANGED
After I lost everything, I gained everything. Losing my homes and my money forced me to deal with myself on a much deeper level than I could have ever imagined. I became more introspective and delved deeper into meditation and my spiritual practice.
I began to treat myself better. I respected myself enough to care about my entire well-being.
The biggest shift that happened for me was immersing myself into Personal Development. I knew that after I’d been through as much as I had, I too needed to be uplifted and motivated to get on with the next chapter of my life. Yeah, I messed up. Yeah, I lost a lot of money. So what? I was starting over!
I began listening to motivational greats like Les Brown, Tony Robbins, Jim Rohn, Zig Ziglar and Bob Proctor every single day. These powerful speakers helped me finally realize that my mistakes did not define me. My credit score no longer had to shame me. I could learn from my mistakes and help others do the same.
“If you fall, make sure you land on your back. Because if you can look up, you can get up!”
WHY I DEDICATE MY LIFE TO HELPING OTHERS
I didn’t get to where I am today by myself. I became a Visionary Success Coach because I know that if it weren’t for me seeking mentorship and guidance, I would have lost it a long time ago. I would still be stuck reliving my mistakes from 2008.
I know that the work I do is necessary. I know for a fact that I have a natural gift of inspiring others and holding them accountable to their dreams and goals.
I’ve been called to share my story with the world so that it may inspire others to live life to their fullest potential. I want to remind everyone; You can get a second chance to learn from your mistakes…if only you forgive yourself and allow all the new blessings to come into your life.
“When you get, give. When you learn, teach.” – Maya Angelou
I operate my coaching business by that quote. If I can help just one person avoid some of the pitfalls that I’ve experienced, I will be a happier woman. I love helping people get past some of those same mental blocks that I suffered from. It’s an amazing moment when I see the light go off in someone’s eyes that declares, “If you can do it, so can I!”
When my clients realize that change is possible and their dreams can become a reality, it warms my heart beyond measure.
Thanks for reading my story. I look forward to working with you.
